With 7-0 Win, Capitols Improve to 39-26
|
Augusta Capitols pitcher Bernie Rios was in top form, leading his team past the Cincinnati Bombardiers, 7-0. Rios picked up the win for Augusta, going 5 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 4-3. With the win, Augusta goes to 39-26, while the Bombardiers fall to 34-31.
Bryan Langel had a big 2-run home run for the Capitols in the bottom of the first inning. With Augusta leading 1-0 and a runner on 3rd, he sized up a fastball from Eddie Sarabia, who is tied for 10th in the W-AA in innings pitched with 73.0, and punished it. The result was his 12th home run of the season, which put the Capitols on top, 3-0.
