Firecats Drop Scorpions, 6-4
|
Hialeah Firecats starter Joel Edmondson pitched a strong game against the Sonoma Scorpions at Ballpark of North Richland Hills, leading the Firecats to victory, 6-4. Edmondson, the winner, moves to 6-4. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 3 walks. Picking up the save was Fernando Salas, his 9th.
Hialeah needed the clutch hitting of Travis Eastlack to seal the deal. The center fielder swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Firecats on top, 4-1. For the game, Eastlack had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It's nice to get the results when you're feeling good and throwing the ball well," said Edmondson after the game.
The second-place Scorpions now sit at 37-26.
