Firecats Snatch Late-Game, 2-1 Win
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Hialeah Firecats and the Vail Tigercats, 22-year old left-handed pitcher Manny Arias proved to be the difference. The Hialeah left-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-1 Firecats win. Hialeah is now 24-41.
Tony Sylvester delivered a big hit for Hialeah. The left fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Firecats ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Vail manager Mike Alexander.
