Ragin Cajuns Score Late to Nip Firecats, 2-1

The Stockton Ragin Cajuns knocked off the Hialeah Firecats, 2-1, in Western AA action at Firecats Ballpark. Stockton pitcher and Danville, California, native Nick Kline had an outstanding performance. Stockton reliever Ricardo Grados picked up the win. Francisco Elizalde took the loss for Hialeah. Enrique Perez closed it out for his 18th save.
Stockton used the timely hitting of Gabriel Crear to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Ragin Cajuns on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Hialeah manager Garrett Ubersox. "Obviously."
The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Stockton.
