The Sonoma Scorpions defeated the Cincinnati Bombardiers, 9-4. Doing his part was right fielder Cole Niven, who was 2-5 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Sonoma is 36-24 and Cincinnati, with the loss, 29-31.

With Sonoma leading 4-1 in the top of the fourth, Niven came up to bat against Cincinnati pitcher Heath Maughn. Niven hit a sinker to right-center for a grand slam home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Scorpions on top, 8-1.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Niven told the Sonoma Herald.
