The Cornwall Royals picked up a win at Firecats Ballpark, knocking off the Hialeah Firecats, 5-4. On the mound for Cornwall was right-hander Bill Mosher. He played a key role in the triumph. The winner was Cornwall reliever Eric Miley, now 1-3. The loser was Fernando Salas. Cornwall, now 29-33, holds down 4th place in the Western AA Coastal Division.

Cornwall used a clutch hit from Tony Baker to get the win. The first baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Royals ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.

"We did enough to win," said Baker.
