Boll Weevils 3-1 Winners Over Cincinnati
|
In a low-scoring game between Miami and Cincinnati, pitcher Ferhat Chiwocha was excellent. The Miami right-hander helped his team knock off the Bombardiers, 3-1. John Keefe was called on to finish, recording his 4th save. The Boll Weevils improved their record to 25-37 with the win over Cincinnati.
Dave Haines took Cincinnati hurler Brad Porretta deep in the bottom of the fifth. His 2-run home run put the Boll Weevils on top, 3-1. In all, Haines had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Miami manager Bill Murtha said.
