A 3-RBI performance from Mike Sheets helped the Vermont Milkmen beat the Miami Boll Weevils, 4-1. Vicente Perez got the win, improving to 6-2. He held the Boll Weevils to no runs on 3 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 4. Picking up the save was 25-year old left-handed pitcher Dan Martin.

There was more than one reason the Milkmen beat the Boll Weevils, but Sheets's big at-bat in the bottom of the second was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run single.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Sheets told a Vermont Daily reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."

The Vermont win streak is now 3 games.
