Capitols Rally Late to Nip Milkmen
The Augusta Capitols had to overcome a fine effort from Vermont pitcher Steve Quintero to win, 1-0, at The Capitol Dome. Quintero went 8.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Tim Kondas snagged the win in relief. He goes to 4-1 on the season. Steve Quintero suffered the loss. Augusta has now won 5 straight.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 22-year old left fielder Nick Owens had a chance to be the hero. Vermont pitcher Matt Gardner wanted to foil that plan. But with two outs, Owens drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Capitols had themselves a thrilling win.

"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said Owens. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."
