Bulldogs Dump St. Louis, 8-3, to Win 4th in a Row
|
Aaron Bergman was superb against St. Louis. The right-hander, who is tied for 4th in the W-AA with a 8.7 K/9 rate, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Bulldogs victory. The score was 8-3. Bergman yielded 1 run over 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 1 hit, walked 2, and struck out 10. His record improves to 4-1. Richard Alter closed out the game, earning his 2nd save.
The Bulldogs got an important contribution from right fielder Greg Dunaway, who in the bottom of the third hit a cutter to right for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Bulldogs ahead, 3-0.
"I was able to fill up the zone," said Bergman.
The Bulldogs, now 41-21, have won 4 in a row.
