With Late Score, Scorpions Beat Tigercats

The Sonoma Scorpions had to overcome a good performance from Vail pitcher Ismael Resendez to claim a 3-2 win at Vail Grounds. Resendez went 6.2 innings and allowed no runs. Sonoma reliever Ryan Klinck was credited with the win. His record goes to 2-0. Rich Sargent took the loss for Vail. The Scorpions improved to a lofty 42-18.
Sonoma used a clutch hit from John Oglesby to get the win. The third baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Scorpions ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"That's how you're going to be successful," said Scorpions manager Keith Young. "It starts with pitching and it will always be pitching."
