Boll Weevils Suffer One-Run Loss at Augusta
The Augusta Capitols knocked off the Miami Boll Weevils, 6-5, in Western AA action at The Capitol Dome. Augusta pitcher and Justice, Illinois, native Adrian Krautheim had an outstanding performance. The win was credited to 28-year old left-handed pitcher Adam Woll in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Joe Ault took the loss. Earning his 5th save of the year was Matt Schmidt.

Had Chris Wunderlich not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Wunderlich hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Capitols.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Krautheim, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."

With the win, Augusta upped its record to 34-23.
