Scorpions Lose to Stockton, 3-1
|
The Stockton Ragin Cajuns banked on Mike Walsh and he turned in a masterful performance. The left-hander kept the Sonoma hitters in check. The final score was 3-1, Ragin Cajuns. Walsh picked up the win for Stockton, going 5.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 5-2. Enrique Perez earned the save for Stockton, his 16th of the year.
Omar Pinela had a big 2-run home run for the Ragin Cajuns in the bottom of the second inning. With Stockton trailing 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Alex Perez, who is tied for 2nd in the W-AA in innings pitched with 81.0, and swatted a home run to right. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Ragin Cajuns ahead, 2-1.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Pinela said.
The Ragin Cajuns win now puts them at 32-27.
