Tight Tilt Goes to Bulldogs, 4-3
|
The Hamilton Bulldogs did just enough to sneak past the Cincinnati Bombardiers, 4-3, at Ballpark of Cincinnati. Hamilton pitcher Bobby Carrero, in particular, had a standout performance. Dave Taylor picked up his 5th save of the season. Hamilton is now 38-21, while Cincinnati is 19-40.
Hamilton used a well-timed hit by Sean Custis to capture the win. The catcher socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Bulldogs ahead, 4-3. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"I'm happy we won," said Carrero. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
