Benson Spins Gem, Vermont Wins
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Vermont Milkmen and the Vail Tigercats, pitcher Nate Benson was the difference between victory and defeat. The Vermont right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-0 Milkmen win. Jason Phillips recorded the save for Vermont, his 6th of the season. The Milkmen raised their record to 23-35.
The Tigercats had trouble solving Benson, who surrendered no runs on 1 hit over 7 innings.
"Nate did a heck of a job," said Vermont manager Mike Barriga.
