|
The Hialeah Firecats defeated the Vermont Milkmen, 6-4, at Firecats Ballpark. Leading the charge for Hialeah was right fielder Eric Adkin. He went 2 for 5 with a home run and a triple, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The win puts Hialeah at 22-33.
With Hialeah leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth, Adkin hit a slider from Bobby Cruz for a bases-clearing triple. It was his 7th triple of the season and put the Firecats ahead, 6-2.
Adkin told the Hialeah News: "I was born for the big stage."
