Mounties Rally Late to Nip Fire
The Vancouver Mounties finished things off in style.

The Vancouver Mounties defeated the San Francisco Fire, 4-3, in National Conference action at Mounties Field. Vancouver pitcher Greg Sandlin had a standout performance. Kyle Rodriguez earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record is now 2-1.

Tim Hummel was the walk-off hero for Vancouver. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mounties center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We take it day by day here," said Sandlin, "and today was a good one for us."

The 'W' lifts Vancouver's record to 35-28.
