A 5-RBI performance from Alberto Torres, who is tied for 6th in the W-AA in triples with 2, helped the London Tigers beat the Vail Tigercats, 10-0. Antonio Alvarez earned the win to go to 3-1. He allowed no runs on 9 hits, with no walks and 8 strikeouts in 8 innings of work. London is now 29-26, Vail 30-25.
With London leading 4-0 in the bottom of the second, Torres came up to bat against Vail pitcher Mike Bruce. Torres hit a fastball to left for a 3-run home run. His 7th home run of the season put the Tigers on top, 7-0.
In postgame comments to the London Gazette, Torres said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
