Late Magic Gets Detroit 5-2 Win
The New York Nightmare got a superb performance from pitcher Joe Schroeder, but the Detroit Giants still won the game, 5-2. Schroeder threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Detroit reliever Chris Fitzsimmons picked up the win. Tony Rosario took the loss for New York. Detroit has run its win streak to 4 straight.

Detroit used a clutch hit from Chris Lutz to snatch the win. The designated hitter belted a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Giants ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was huge.

"This is a very good team," said Lutz. "We have the chance to do something special."
