Sea Turtles Need Extra Frames to Get Past Shiners
|
The Daytona Beach Sea Turtles racked up a win at Ballpark of Charleston, bumping off the Charleston Shiners, 7-2, in 14 innings. David Fry, who started for Daytona Beach, pitched effectively for his team. Daytona Beach is 34-28 and Charleston, with the loss, 36-26.
Daytona Beach used the clutch hitting of Art MacDonald to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run double in the top of the 14th inning to give the Sea Turtles the lead, 4-2. For the game, MacDonald had 1 single and 1 double in 7 at-bats.
"Feels good to be on the winning side," said MacDonald.
