The Indianapolis Eagles knocked off the Toronto Trash Pandas, 5-4, at Eagles Stadium. Mike Pierskalla was a big reason Indianapolis won. The catcher was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Jonathan Gonzales got credit for the win, improving to 6-4. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. Picking up the save was three-time All-Star Cameron Hutchinson.

Indianapolis took a 5-4 lead on John Thaxton's 11th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Thaxton hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Toronto pitcher Tom Mott visibly frustrated.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Toronto manager Matt Armijo. "But we decided not to take it."
