Reapers Get Past Tampa Bay for 7-6 Win
|
Marcus Greene did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Tampa Bay Captains from being beaten, 7-6, to the Carolina Reapers at Reedy River Stadium. Greene was 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The Reapers raised their record to 25-36.
Mike Green was 1 for 4 with a walk for Carolina. With two out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Green, who finished 3rd in the NC in hits with 204 in 2023, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Tampa Bay hurler Carlos Barraza, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the Reapers a 7-6 lead.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Carolina manager Felipe Arriaga.
