Nightmare Slap 8-4 Loss on Hollywood
|
The New York Nightmare had to overcome a big game from Hollywood first baseman Eric Daniel to leave Hollywood Grounds with a victory. And they did, winning, 8-4. Daniel was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Dustin Lewis got the win, improving to 5-5. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 3 hits and 1 run, while striking out 8 and walking 1. Tony Rosario notched his 2nd save in 3 chances.
Ben Callahan, the New York left fielder, contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to make the score 5-1, Nightmare. For the game, Callahan was 1-5. He drove in 2 runs.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Callahan told the New York Times. "It's as simple as that."
New York is 30-31 and Hollywood, with the loss, 27-34.
