Shiners Take Nail-Biter Over Nightmare
|
The New York Nightmare got a superb performance from pitcher Joe Schroeder, but the Charleston Shiners still won the game, 3-2. Schroeder threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball. Charleston reliever Ben Hamilton was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Tony Morales. With the win over New York, the Shiners improved to 31-30.
Charleston won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With one out and Tony Morales on the mound for New York, first baseman Corey Mills hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Shiners fans to their feet.
"It's great when the crowd is energized," Mills said.
