Trash Pandas Collect 5-2 Win Over Reapers
|
The Toronto Trash Pandas racked up a win at Reedy River Stadium, bumping off the Carolina Reapers, 5-2, in 10 innings. Winston Caballero, who started for Toronto, pitched effectively for his team. Ryan Arntz was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Steve Cates. Tom Mott was credited with the save for Toronto, his 1st of the season.
Toronto needed the clutch hitting of John Gadsden to seal the deal. The third baseman swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Trash Pandas on top, 5-2. For the game, Gadsden had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Feels good to be on the winning side," said Gadsden.
The loss puts Carolina at 1-5.
