Red-Hot House Scorches Cornhuskers
|
Jonathan House put on a hitting clinic as the Oregon Ducks dumped the Nebraska Cornhuskers, 6-4, at Hawks Field.
The Oregon right fielder made Nebraska defenders earn their pay, lashing Nebraska pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," House said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Jonathan House doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jeremy Kapica in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
For the season, House is hitting at a .348 clip with 8 home runs, 19 RBIs and has scored 21 runs. He has 40 hits, 14 walks and a .427 on-base percentage.
