Invaders Get Clutch Win Versus Tampa Bay
Tampa Bay got a decent performance from pitcher Jeremy Schroeter, but it wasn't enough to beat the Oakland Invaders. Oakland won the Ahoy Park contest, 5-4. Schroeter threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Chris Graham, 2-3, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. Oakland has a record of 30-29, placing them second in the National Conference South Division.

Oakland used a clutch hit from John Piscitelli to get the win. The left fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Invaders ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Piscitelli said in reaction to the win.
