A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Halifax Heathens and Maine Pines.

Halifax pitcher Angel Morales did his part in helping his team defeat the Maine Pines, 4-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Morales, now 5-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 1 run.

Halifax needed the clutch hitting of Josh Fitzgerald to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Heathens on top, 4-1. For the game, Fitzgerald had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

Said losing manager David Whigham: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."

The second-place Heathens have won 4 straight.
