Gladiators Dealt 6-5 Loss by Indianapolis
|
The Indianapolis Eagles handed the Phoenix Gladiators a 6-5 defeat at Eagles Stadium. First Baseman T.J. Walker starred for Indianapolis. He was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Jerry Bowman picked up the win, lifting his record to 1-1 on the season. He struck out 9 and walked 0 in 6 innings, while yielding 4 runs. Indianapolis is now 36-23.
Matt Lepa, the 24th overall pick in the 2020 draft, contributed to the Indianapolis win with a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 1 run batted in.
After the game, Indianapolis manager Pete DuBay applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
