Boston Dealt 4-3 Defeat
|
Chicago pitcher Adrian Huffine did his part in helping his team beat the Boston Whistlers, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Huffine, now 7-10, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 12, walking 2, and allowing 3 runs. The Gangsters sport a record of 65-95.
Jason Bear had a big 2-run home run for the Gangsters in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Chicago trailing 3-2 and a runner on 2nd, he got a cutter from Josh Cowels and swatted a home run to left. It was his 19th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Gangsters ahead, 4-3.
Huffine told a Chicago News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
