Kober Slugs Fire to 11-9 Win
The San Francisco Fire downed the Hollywood Stars, 11-9. The hitting star was catcher Jonathan Kober. Kober was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4 for the Fire. Jesus Henriguez got the save, his 39th in 42 chances. San Francisco is now 74-86, Hollywood 84-76.

Kober contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for San Francisco in the top of the ninth. With his team trailing 9-8, Kober took a fastball from Pat Eisen and stroked the home run to left. His 12th home run of the season allowed the Fire to leap in front, 11-9.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Kober told the San Francisco Gazette.
