Reapers Deal Captains 6-5 Loss
The Carolina Reapers downed the Tampa Bay Captains, 6-5, in 11 innings. Jose Lazaro led the way, going 2-for-4 for Carolina. The winner in relief was John Salgado. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-1. The Reapers improved to 31-28.

Carolina took a 6-5 lead on Franklin Reyes's 21st double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Reyes hit in the top of the 11th, left Tampa Bay pitcher Tony Gutierrez visibly frustrated.

"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Lazaro. "It sure beats the alternative."
