The Boston Whistlers picked up a win at Chiefs Ballpark, downing the Santa Fe Chiefs, 4-1. On the mound for Boston was right-hander Antonio Higuera, who played a pivotal role in the win. Jose Rivera earned the save for Boston, his 11th of the year. Boston is in second place in the American Conference Central Division with a record of 76-83.

In the top of the sixth, Jeff Beeson delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Boston shortstop hit a run-scoring single, putting the Whistlers in front, 4-1.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Beeson. "And not try to do too much."
