The Halifax Heathens topped the Phoenix Gladiators, 4-3, in American Conference action at Estadio Azteca. The game was highlighted by the performance of Halifax pitcher Andy Swift. Halifax reliever Steve McManus picked up the win, upping his record to 2-7. Manny Brant absorbed the loss. The triumph puts Halifax at 95-64 for the season.

Andres Vega drew 1 walk for Halifax. The 25-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Manny Brant. It was his 27th walk of the season.

"We took home the win," said Vega. "What's not to like?"
