Giants Handled by San Francisco, 4-1
|
San Francisco Grounds was the site for National Conference action featuring the Detroit Giants and San Francisco Fire.
The San Francisco Fire beat the Detroit Giants, 4-1, at San Francisco Grounds. Starting pitcher Miguel Berrios was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Jesus Henriguez earned the save, his 14th.
Noel Cusack took Detroit hurler Julian Bryant deep in the bottom of the first. His 3-run home run put the Fire on top, 3-0. In all, Cusack had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Berrios.
The Fire win now puts them at 24-35.
