Stars Score Late, Stun Fire, 8-6
|
Though he had a terrific game, Luis Munoz could not prevent his team, the San Francisco Fire, from absorbing a loss. Hollywood won the game, 8-6. Munoz went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. With the victory, the Stars upped their record to 93-65.
Hollywood used the timely hitting of Tim Schellin to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Stars on top, 8-6. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Schellin.
