Invaders Need Extra Innings to Top Sea Dogs, 7-6
|
The Charleston Sea Dogs got a sterling performance from pitcher Andy Weatherholt, but the Oakland Invaders still prevailed, 7-6. Weatherholt threw 5.2 innings of 2-hit ball. The defeat makes Charleston 97-61.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jonathan Cunningham? The Oakland third baseman had a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Invaders on top, 7-6. For the game, Cunningham had 2 doubles and 2 singles in 6 at-bats.
"You can't hate how you win if you win," said Oakland skipper Dillon Moyer.
