Desperados Trip Dragons, 2-1, in Extra Innings
|
The Austin Desperados and Dallas Dragons rewarded fans hoping for a nail-biter.
Victor Angel pitched a gem to lead Austin to victory over the Dallas Dragons, 2-1. Joe McLaughlin picked up the win in relief for Austin, while Adam Holland took the loss.
The decisive blow was delivered by Malachi Smith in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a solo home run off three-time All-Star Adam Holland to win the game for Austin. The home crowd went nuts.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Austin manager Tim Ward.
The win elevated the Desperados to 91-67.
