Dallas Bats Go Silent in 3-0 Loss
|
Miguel Berrios, who finished 4th in the AC in ERA with 3.07 in 2019, was locked in. The left-hander led the Halifax Heathens to a 3-0 win against the Dallas Dragons at Estadio Azteca. Berrios yielded no runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 6. His record improves to 4-0. Halifax has now won 3 straight, while the Dragons have lost 7 in a row.
The Heathens got a big at-bat from center fielder Nick Sumney. For the game, Sumney was 2 for 3 with a double. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 22nd double of the season gave Halifax a 1-0 lead.
"Miguel was able to execute his pitches," said Halifax manager David Morris. "Simple as that."
