Fire Get 6-0 Win Versus Hollywood
The San Francisco Fire went home winners at San Francisco Grounds, thanks in large part to starter Pat Daughtry. Daughtry stifled the Hollywood Stars, enabling San Francisco to grab the 6-0 win. The winning pitcher was Daughtry, now 11-5. He tossed 5 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. With the victory, the Fire record stands at 71-86.

Gabe Garza had a big 2-run double for the Fire in the bottom of the first inning. With San Francisco leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from 26-year old left-handed pitcher Adam Arent and swatted a double to center. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Fire ahead, 3-0.

San Francisco manager Jim Clarke commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
