The Chicago Gangsters knocked off the Tampa Bay Captains, 3-2, in American Conference action at The Hideout. Chicago pitcher and Trenton, Michigan, native Phil Gregoire had an outstanding performance. Gregoire got the win, improving to 4-12. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Chicago has run its win streak to 4 in a row.
Left Fielder Justin Wish made an impact for Chicago, when he swatted a solo home run off Edwin Montez in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Wish went 1 for 3 with a home run.
"Phil's stuff looked really, really crisp," said Antonio Valdez, the Gangsters manager.
