The 8-3 Austin win over Dallas was due largely to Malachi Smith. The Desperados catcher hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The second-place Desperados have won 5 straight games.

Leo Serna cracked a home run off Glenn Ward in the bottom of the seventh. His 3-run blast put the Desperados on top, 6-3. In all, Serna had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
