Fleet Beaten By Mounties, 9-6

The home crowd had a good time watching the San Diego Fleet and Vancouver Mounties get after it.
San Diego first baseman Jonathan Ellis had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 9-6, to Vancouver at Mounties Field. Ellis was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Chris Brown got the save, his 35th in 38 chances.
T.J. Arnold had a big 2-run double for the Mounties in the bottom of the first inning. With Vancouver leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from Corey Gruver, who is tied for 4th in the NC in quality starts with 22, and swatted a double to left. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mounties ahead, 3-0.
"It was our day today," Arnold told the Vancouver Daily. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
The Mounties, at 78-79, have now won 4 straight.
