Fire Come Up Short at Vancouver, 2-1

In a low-scoring affair between the Vancouver Mounties and the San Francisco Fire, pitcher Javier Ramos was the difference between victory and defeat. The Vancouver right-hander earned accolades in the 2-1 Mounties win. With the win, Vancouver raised its record to 85-71.
Vancouver took a 2-1 lead on Sean Williamson's 39th home run of the season. The solo home run came off San Francisco pitcher Erik Ashley in the bottom of the seventh.
"The old adage is true," said Ramos. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
