Gangsters Slap 5-2 Loss on Syracuse
The Chicago Gangsters converted a terrific effort from starter Bobby Nowlin into a win over the Syracuse Scorpions at Scorpion Stadium. The Gangsters won the game by a final score of 5-2. Nowlin yielded 2 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 4-14. The Gangsters raised their record to 53-102.

Chicago used the stroke of Eric Drake to get the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Gangsters ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 2 at-bats, but it did its damage.

Drake told the Chicago Herald: "Win or lose, I don't want to see our team outhustled."
