Desperados Suffer 5-2 Loss to Heathens

Halifax and Austin duked it out and the Heathens came out victorious.
The Halifax Heathens topped the Austin Desperados, 5-2, in American Conference action at Estadio Azteca. The standout performance belonged to Halifax pitcher and Irvine, California, native Chris Booth. Miguel Soto finished the game for Halifax and earned his 21st save.
Chance Smith had a big 3-run home run for the Heathens in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Halifax leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a forkball from Luke Scrimger, who is tied for 5th in the AC in wins with 16, and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Heathens on top, 4-0.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Smith told the Halifax Chronicle. "But we take nothing for granted."
Halifax improves to 100-55 with the win. They lead their division by 18 games.
