Royals Rally to Nose Past Indianapolis
The Cincinnati Royals scored a tight, 4-3 win versus the Indianapolis Eagles at The Castle. Cincinnati pitcher John Wright held his own in the contest. Roberto Salazar came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now stands at 5-4. Cincinnati is in second place in the National Conference North East Division with a record of 89-65.

The Royals were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 24-year old second baseman Jay Bloms landed a big blow. He turned a 1-2 fastball from Vince Rice into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the The Castle denizens into a frenzy and sent the Royals home with a thrilling 4-3 win.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Indianapolis manager Pete DuBay.
