Desperados Earn 4-0 Home Win
|
Austin Desperados starter Jonathan Johnson pitched a strong game against the Halifax Heathens at Dell Diamond, leading the Desperados to victory, 4-0. The Desperados improved their record to 87-67 by beating Halifax.
The Desperados got a big at-bat from first baseman Drew Riggi. For the game, Riggi was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 18th home run of the season gave Austin a 3-0 lead.
"Makes our job easier," said Riggi, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."
