Dragons Earn 9-7 Win Against Gladiators
The Dallas Dragons and Phoenix Gladiators put on quite a show.

Phoenix shortstop John Platzer was sensational. He went 4 for 6 with 2 home runs, a triple, and a double. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Dallas beat the Gladiators, 9-7, in 12 innings. Dallas reliever Mike Braasch was the winner. His record is now 3-3. Dave Coe took the loss.

The decisive blow was delivered by Cole Calkins in the bottom of the 12th when he hit a 2-run home run off fireballing right-hander Dave Coe to win the game for Dallas. The home crowd went nuts.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Calkins said.

Today's win puts Dallas at 70-84, while Phoenix falls to 82-72.
