With right fielder Jesus Cardona leading the charge, the New York Nightmare defeated the Philadelphia Marauders, 8-7, at Marauders Ballpark. Cardona, who is tied for 8th in the AC in total bases with 280, went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Tony Rosario was credited with the save for New York, his 25th of the season. The setback makes Philadelphia 89-65.

The result might have been different, had it not been for 25-year old left fielder Frank Hoffman. Hoffman had a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Nightmare ahead, 8-7. For the game, Hoffman had 1 double and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.

"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Cardona.
