Getting a good performance from left fielder Tim Gregg, the San Diego Fleet defeated the San Francisco Fire, 8-6. Gregg went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Fleet. The loss makes San Francisco 71-83.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for San Diego. That's when Mike MacPherson hit a 2-run home run off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Gabe Sprung to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

Gregg said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
