Boston Upended, 6-5, by Tampa Bay
|
The Boston Whistlers got a superb performance from pitcher Nate Benson, but the Tampa Bay Captains still won the game, 6-5. Benson came in in relief and pitched to 17 batters. Tampa Bay is now 66-88, while Boston is 84-70.
The Captains got a big at-bat from designated hitter Marcus Greene. For the game, Greene went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 35th home run of the season gave Tampa Bay a 3-2 lead.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Greene told the Tampa Bay Herald.
