Behind an impressive start by Casey Abbott, Cincinnati beat Indianapolis, 3-2. The winner was Abbott. He threw 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was Brad Bixby. Roberto Salazar was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 25 of 30 save opportunities.

Eric Hayes had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for Cincinnati. He came through with a 2-run single to put Cincinnati in front, 3-2.
