Mickey Ferrell, who finished 5th in the NC in saves with 23 in 2017, had a strong outing for the Cincinnati Royals against the Indianapolis Eagles at The Castle. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. Picking up the save was Gordie Clifford. He's now 46 for 51 in save chances. With the victory, the Royals upped their record to 86-67.

Gregorio Valenzuela had a big bases-clearing double for the Royals in the bottom of the third inning. With Cincinnati leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a curveball from former first round draft pick Jerry Bowman and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 13th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Royals ahead, 4-0.

"Main thing is I want the team to win," Ferrell told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
